Teaser: Home office makeover begins.
It's been over 5 years since I've had a home theater and I'm getting restless. Thanks to the family wanting a 3D TV in our living room, I've gotten the opportunity to repurpose our old 46" Sharp Aquos LCD TV and 7.1 Denon Receiver previously used in the living room into the humble beginnings of a new (albeit much less ambitious) Home Theater project in my home office. While it won't be as impressive as my previous one, there are a couple things that are actually going to make it better:
- Playseat Alcantara Racing Seat (pictured above) with a Logitech G27 Steering Wheel with manual 6-speed gear shift
- Much better speakers in the front (more details to come)
The old Home Theater really didn't have the right design to stick a racing seat in the middle of it, but this one is being conceived with this in mind.
As for the speakers, I'm working on a plan but probably won't go through with it until after Christmas.
Let the new man cave begin…
The boy customized some Monster Jam trucks: Rinzler, Tron, and C.L.U.
He got a new Monster Jam game today which allows you to customize trucks with a pretty rudimentary set of canned graphics and colors. Since he’s been kinda big into Tron: Legacy lately, he decided to make 3 trucks based on some of the characters. According to him, he’s gonna create/edit a video soon. Stay tuned.
Official Sony Video comparison of GT5 vs real life Nürburgring.
Remember the user-generated video of Nürburgring in real life versus GT5? Here’s the official version from Sony.
This is how I found the boy playing video games in his room today.
He loves getting all wrapped up in blankets when he sleeps or watches movies, but this was the first time I've seen him doing this while playing video games.
My kids get themselves in the strangest positions.
Playing DS. Does this look comfortable? She says it is...

The boy, playing GT4 with racing gloves and balancing a reindeer on his head.
I recently brought my Driving Force Pro wheel back out and the boy has been playing non-stop ever since. Even a reindeer on his head wouldn't distract him.
