This series is based on Maurice Sendak’s “Where the Wild Things Are,” a classic children’s book, winner of the 1964 Caldecott Medal for the Most Distinguished Picture Book of the Year. This timeless work became an iconic book that has inspired a movie, an opera, and the imagination of generations. Sendak and producer/director Todd McFarlane collaborated on an action figure toy line based on Sendak's 1963 book, "Where the Wild Things Are." They were debuted at famed New York City toy store F.A.O. Schwarz on October 12, 2000, at a special signing where the entire run was sold out in a single day. Mine are not signed, but have been stored since they were purchased and remain in pristine condition.
